At the beginning of 2013, in recognition of AVIF's contribution to education in Africa, WebHealer announced that they would provide financial and technical support to AVIF. This was a formalisation of an ad-hoc relationship that had existed for a number of years, and in January 2013, WebHealer wanted to go a step further and provide formal financial support, as well as backup technical support for website maintenance.
For more information see our original announcement from January 3rd, titled WebHealer Support
In recognition of AVIF's contribution to education in Africa, we are pleased to announce that WebHealer have agreed to provide financial and technical support to AVIF. WebHealer have been aware of AVIF's operations for a number of years, and have provided advice and feedback on an ad hoc basis, however in 2013, they decided to provide formal financial support, as well as backup technical support for website maintenance.
Phil Hulme of WebHealer said: "Over the years we have been impressed by the energy and the positive contribution made by AVIF, particularly in their success at placing volunteers in Africa. We are proud to establish this relationship with AVIF, and to provide support to their operations".
WebHealer are a specialist website services company, meeting the needs of professional therapists in the UK. They are passionate about great design, value for money and above all delivering results to their clients. Typical clients of WebHealer are counsellors, psychotherapists, reflexologists, physiotherapists, osteopaths and a range of complementary therapists, usually working as individual therapists or small clinics. The service offering is very much tailored around the needs of individuals with limited technical skills and limited budgets. For example, many clients start with a standard off the shelf design suited to their area of therapy. In time as their knowledge and confidence in running a website increases, they can customise the design or choose something bespoke created by WebHealer's design partner Griffen Mill.
In addition to supporting AVIF, WebHealer assist a number of charities, volunteer organisations and non profit social enterprises. They are currently supporting Samaritans with their Feel Good Friday campaign, scheduled for February 1st 2013. This is the second year of support for this event. The 2012 event was a great success with over 110 therapists participating. Several hundred pounds was raised, as well as the benefit of increasing the general profile and awareness of the event, as every participating therapist displayed the Feel Good Friday logo on their website. WebHealer's goal for 2013 is to increase therapist participation to over 250, and through matching funds, to raise over £2,000 for Samaritans. For more information about this campaign, see their Feel Good Friday page, where you can click through to the Feel Good Friday interactive therapy map, and search for participating therapists who are supporting this year's event by contributing a proportion of their fees on February 1st, 2013.
In 2010 WebHealer and their clients raised over £7,500 for Macmillan Cancer Care, The BBC Children in Need Appeal and Merlin Disaster Relief. For more details see the WebHealer Charity VAT page.
